Almost camping trip & Easter

First, here' s a few cute conversations with the kids...

The other night there was a full moon... it was really pretty and yellow. Paige saw it and said, "Look, the sun is out!" Derek says, "No, it's the moon." Kevin then says very seriously, "No, it's the Earth!!"

We were talking at lunch the other day about Mexico and I was explaining that Mexico is beneath us and we live in New Mexico. Paige looks at me and says, "No Mom, this is Albuquerque, not Mexico."

Here are some Easter goodies we made for our neighbors and friends this year.. They are rice krispy treats coated in chocolate. Yummy.

We had been planning on going camping for a few weeks. And wouldn't you know it the one day we plan on going is the coldest and windiest day of the week. We still packed up and went just in case the weather cleared up, but it didn't. It even snowed on us a bit on the drive up (about 45 minutes from here). So instead we went home and built a fire pit and cooked our tin foil dinners anyway. Our beds were way more comfortable than the tent would've been that night. Doesn't Tad look proud?

Dinner was yummy... chicken, beans, veggies and biscuits.... Yummy!

We did our Easter Egg hunt yesterday. This was Darci's first hunt and she had a lot of fun carrying around her basket. She was so quick it was hard to get a good picture of her, so thats why there's so many of her... It was also right after naps so don't mind the messy heads!

Darci watched us hide the eggs and was NOT happy that she couldn't go outside!

We had a good Easter although we wish we were closer to family and cousins to spend the time with. We are also very grateful for the atonement and sacrifice of our savior Jesus Christ.

Finished the boys Dinosaur Room

It's actually been painted for a few weeks now, but I've been out of batteries for my camera. Dollar store batteries let me take about 3 pictures and they're done. So, here are the pictures. We moved our nice bedroom furniture that was given us by my mom and step-dad (Thanks!) into their room because it goes so well with their bunk beds.

I made this road sign with my Cricut today to go up in their room. I'm going to make 3 more with other dinosaurs and different wordings.

These pictures are 2 of the corners. I put some vinyl stickers on the walls and we hung up these dinosaur models that were only $1 at Michaels. (They're a real pain to put together though). When I get some brown spray paint, I'm going to paint them.

Mr. T (glued together finally so he wont fall apart every time we open the drawers.

I used this poster for Derek's birthday party last year. I'm not quite sure that I like it up now that the room is painted, but it's BIG and has BIG dinosaurs and Derek loves it.

Paige gets jeolous anytime I make something for the boys room and not hers.

I made this spring wreath yesterday from dollartree items. It cost me $7 to make. I really like how it turned out and am glad that spring weather is finally here!

Another fun thing about spring time here is the pretty trees that are everywhere. I hated this little tree until the other day when pretty little pink flowers bloomed on it. Isn't it pretty? All over our neighborhood we have other trees like this and also ones that are white. We need to get one of those.

I found a neat blog with a tutorial on how to make button rings. This was some material that I had on hand already so they're not the cutest, but I still think they're pretty cute. I picked up some other scrap material at Hobby Lobby today and made some more. I'll take picture of those when I get more camera batteries:) I think I know what all my little nieces will be getting this year from me!! The tutorial is here.

Spring Break

This is part 1 of spring break... We had a busy house. My sister and brother-in-law came with their 4 kids on Friday night and stayed until Wed. My mom and brother came Monday and stayed with my sister's kids until Friday and then Tad's mom and dad came on Wed and stayed until Sunday! We started the week with 2 sick boys (I think it was from the train ride to Santa Fe) and about 30 loads of laundry to top it all off with. My sister and brother-in-law had never seen Santa Fe, so Monday we took the Railrunner up there. It had snowed the night before so we had lots of snow to slush through. And lots of melted snow puddles for the kids to jump in.

This picture is Darci swinging at the park... like Paige, she loves this. She also loves going head-first down the tunnel slides. I'll have to get a video of that.

Paige and Lilly having girl time fun. Paige loved having her cousin here to play dolls with and run around with.

All 8 cousins at the zoo.

Trip to Santa Fe...

There were some older ladies that built this snowman as we were waiting for the train. Paige ran over to it and knocked it's head off as they were trying to take a picture. Luckily, they laughed and thought it was hysterical....

Jared, my brother-in-law with his Snuggie...

We also went to the Coronado Ruins outside of Albuquerque....

LuLu loved that Grandpa came to visit...

And this is what we are working on now.... We've made it through 1 truckload of manure, and have another one outside right now. I spent most of last Thursday shoveling it while Tad was at work and Tad helped me finish up. Today we went and got another load. I'm hoping that is all we'll need. Because once I get it in the wheelbarrow to the back yard, I then have to carry it up by trash can fulls to the different terraces in the yard.
