Santa!!!
We went to the Gila Valley Chorale performance for family night last Monday and guess who was there?? SANTA!!! It was perfect, Santa recognized us and called the kids by name and even knew we were planning on moving (same town). The kids were so excited that Santa knew who they were.
This is Derek with all his Native American gear on that he made for his school open house. It's hard to see, but he is holding his written report on what he learned. This is the 3rd written report he's done this year. He does really well with them.
All dressed up and ready for Church...

Derek's Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving!
First a disclaimer - or a hint to my wonderful husband - I need a new camera! I am so tired of blurry pictures all the time!!
Derek turned 9 years old the other day. 9 years old! I can't believe it. We were going to have a outdoors night like last year, but the weather turned pretty cold and windy so instead I took him and some of his friends to the bowling alley. Turns out bowling is a hit! They had a lot of fun. We took them back to our house for cake and they ended up playing outside anyway while they were waiting for their parents and they loved it outside too.
Darci is ready for winter.... she loves to wear jackets.
We took a last minute trip down to Tucson last Friday night, so we called up Tad's brother Dave and his wife Susan and we all went to the Tucson Zoo Saturday morning. I had never been there before. It is small, but it is a really nice zoo. You can easily see everything in a few hours and it is shady and green. It will definitely be on our hit list again....
I didn't notice until looking back at this picture that Paige was trying to sit on the fence... I guess I'll have to have another talk with her... I had a little talk with them about how to behave at zoos after the Pennsylvania incident. Luckily it was just zebras on the other side of this fence.
Darci said the giraffes were her favorite.... She also said the zebras were her favorite and just about every other animal we saw.
I think this was the ugliest birds I've ever seen.
Although Tad was working for Thanksgiving, we stayed in town this year because nearly all of his brothers and their families came down here. I cooked homemade stuffing from scratch and both varieties turned out really good. The kids had a blast with their cousins. Darci has probably had the best time though now that she is old enough to run around with everyone without needing constant supervision. And it has been SO nice! It's been a while since I've been able to get in a few adult conversations or just sit and relax or eat my meal with the rest of the adults because I've always had a little one to watch. It's kind of bittersweet, but mostly just sweet.

Nana and Grandpa's driveway has been the grand prix all week with kids buzzing up and down on their bikes.
Paige and Ashley
Baby Leah - so cute!
Friday night we went to the tree lighting in Safford and Derek got to sneak in a hug with Santa as he was walking by!
And I haven't posted since I was elected to the Thatcher Town council... 1st place! I was super excited about the results! I attended my first work session last week and will be sworn in December 17th. It's been a lot of fun so far, I wish I would've gotten in to politics years ago. I think I was made for it. I'm going to start my own blog or facebook page for more updates on that as time goes on.

Halloween
I saw these halloween costumes on the internet last year and after reading The Wizard of Oz with the kids I just had to try to do these costumes for the girls. I really wanted to dress up Derek and Kevin as the Tin Man and Lion but they didn't want to. It was a good thing, because it took me long enough to make the girls costumes. Making a tutu was a little more involved than I thought but the 2nd one went a little quicker. They tend to get a little out of control when they are this long, so I think I am going to cut them down shorter and let them use them for dress up now that Halloween is over.
Paige .... "The Good Witch of the Wizard of Oz"
Darci .... "The Scarecrow"
Kevin ... "Batman" (2nd year in a row)
Derek... "Toothless" (2nd year in a row)
The Loot ...
