4th of July

We went down to Thatcher for the 4th of July and am finally getting around to posting some pictures. My sister, her husband and their kids came down with us.

Here is the HUGE parade that starts at 5:30AM, yes I said AM. The fire trucks go around town blaring their sirens until everyone is awake.

Everyone in town that has a 4-wheeler rides in the parade. It's basically fire trucks, 4-wheelers, rangers, and bikes. Everyone is in the parade, so there's not too may people on the sides of the streets watching.

My niece, Maya got to ride in the fire truck (she's in the white shirt).

Derek and his cousin, Jack, rode their bikes in the parade.
After the parade, there was watermelon and cantaloupe to eat.

Then we got washed off by the firetruck.

It's hard to tell, but we were soaked
While we were in Thatcher, Tad took Derek crawdad fishing in the canal.

And last but not least, Tad celebrated his 34th birthday while we were in Thatcher. His mom made him a replica of a cake she made years ago when he was 4.

That would be so much fun! I don't think I would go for the 5:30 am thing, but it sure looks like fun!

That is awesome that his Mom made the same cake that he had when he was 4. What an awesome mom.
