We were a little late getting Pagie & Kevin to the doctor for their 2-yr check ups, but here's where they stand today:
Paige: 34.5 inches, 24lbs (10th percentile... up from the 5th)
Kevin: 36.5 inches, 29lbs (53rd percentile)
I also decided to give Derek and Kevin a trim tonight so they wouldn't get so sweaty. I think Kevin's turned out OK, but Derek may need a touch up. His hair is so thick and wavy it's hard to cut!

Tad's BIG fish!
These are pictures of the big fish that Tad caught at San Carlos Lake over the 4th of July. We're pretty proud of him because its the biggest fish he's caught since we've been married! I think it was about 9lbs! OK, maybe it was just 3 lbs, but that's pretty big!
Potty training update - One week later.......
All in all Paige & Kevin are doing really good. I have them wear diapers at naps and bedtime and it's underwear the rest of the day. They do great in the car and great at the gym and great in stores, it's mostly at home that they have their accidents. It may still be a while before they get the whole poop thing....
I am once again a coupon-aholic if there is such a thing.... I started getting 6 Sunday papers again last month and am loving all the stuff I am getting for free. Just in the last several weeks I've gotten so many things for free: about 24 boxes of granola bars and I'm going back tomorrow for 12 more, tons of tuna, toilet paper, over 20 boxes of cereal (some free, some up to $0.80), shampoo (Pert, Infusium, Herbel Essenses), tons of toothpaste, 6 loaves of bread, and so much more. I spend about the same per month on groceries that I always did but am getting a lot more. Some of it is junk food, but junk food is okay for my year supply! It's only about $26 per month for the papers and takes about 2 to 3 hours of my time per week depending on how many coupons there are, and so far it's been great!

First Official Day of Potty Training the Twins
I'm blogging about this because first of all I have to brag about how well it actually went and second of all because I know it wont last! Potty training Derek was a nightmare, so I knew I was in for it with the twins. I figured I would get all the headache out of the way and train them both at the same time. We've casually had them pee on the toilet for the last few months, but nothing consistent. I was either too tired or too lazy or both, so now with Derek in school, I figured this was the perfect time. Here's a breakdown of our day:
*1 milk and 6 sippy cups of watered down juice from 8:30 to 11:00, then naps and 1 sippy of juice and milk in the afternoon. Gotta fill their bladder right?
*About a hundred pees in the baby toilet and a hundred dumps into the big toilet. With Tad sleeping during the day, we're trying to hang out in the living room all day to be quiet.
*Two poops on the wood floor from both of them, one poop in the baby toilet from Paige, one poop on the back porch from Kevin.
*3 pees or more in the grass from all of them. It was after dinner and we were playing in the water.
*20 minutes at Fry's and to and from in their carseats in underwear with no accidents!
*40 minutes at the gym in underwear with no accidents!
*Only 3 pairs of wet underwear from earlier in the day. Most of the morning I just kept them naked until they started to get it.
*One pee at the dinner table from Paige.
It was pretty exhausting, but I think they did really good today. I'm hoping it will last, but am realistic. Derek took several months and several wet clothes in public before he finally got it.

What girl names do you like?
Well, I have a name I really like and Tad has a name he really likes, but I'm not going to say what they are. I want to hear some other names before we get serious and decide!
As a side note - potty training is actually going pretty good. It goes much better when they're completely naked then when they have underwear on. Paige already didn't like to keep her clothes on, so I'll think we'll have a struggle with that. I went to check on them before going to bed tonight. I put her to bed in her princess dress, diaper and underwear. When I checked on her, she had her diaper off on the floor and 3 pairs of underwear on. One was on right, the other ones were pulled on through one leg all the way up to her waist. And she was laying in pee! It didn't seem to bother her, but of course I had to wake her up and get her cleaned up... Now she's good except for the red marks on her waist from her one legged underwear!

Well, not a lot to post this week. Tad & I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary last week. I can't believe it's been 6 years! 6 years and 3 1/2 kids... not bad, right? Derek's been having a blast in Kindergarten. Tad took last week off to work on the bathroom more and it's getting so much closer to being done, it looks really good so far. Paige thought it would be fun to take her nightlight apart and put the lightbulb in her mouth...luckily Tad went to check on her and noticed. Then the next day, she stuck a popcorn kernel up her teeny tiny nostril and had to have a doctor take it out because her nose is so small. While Derek's at school, we're starting to put a push on potty training and so far it's not going too bad, it's just hard because we're hardly at home for more than a few hours at a time.

1st Day of Kindergarten!
Derek was so excited to go to Kindergarten yesterday. He looked so cute and so grown up. He's in all day Kindergarten. He said he had a lot of fun, read stories, got to eat in the big cafeteria, and play on the big playground.
We walked him to school yesterday, but we'll be driving from now on until it cools off. Even though the school is right behind our house, his class is at the very end of the school and it's just too hot to walk with the babies too.
This is his class. The campus is really nice. It's a bunch of cottages surrounded by grass, trees, and picnic benches.
This is his friend Brinkley from church. There's 4 or 5 kindergarten classes, so I was so happy that they were able to get in the same class.
This was their schedule for the first day.
Their teacher gave them time to color while all the parents said bye.
Paige thought she was going to school too... She and Kevin missed Derek while he was gone.
