I love Peaches

OK, so this may be strange, but I don't remember ever eating peaches (other than canned) growing up. Maybe I thought they were too gross and never wanted to try them or maybe they were too expensive, I don't know. Canned peaches are OK, but a few weeks ago, I decided to buy some real peaches because they were cheap. And Oh my gosh, I have been missing out! I love peaches! I can't get enough of them now! They're always hard at the grocery store, but 1 or 2 days at home in a paper sack and they are yummy, yummy, yummy!

I also love Goodwill... most of the time. We went today because we're still trying to find a T-rex costume for Derek and we added a bunch of dinosaurs to the boys dinosaur collection. Here's their collection of dinosaurs, snakes and lizards! I'm sure they have about 10 more that they couldn't find tonight. Boys have such fun toys. It'll be fun when Paige gets a bit older and I can dress-up and tea parties with her, but for now, she's liking their dinosaurs too.

Derek's Numbers

Derek was doing his homework today and when he got to writing his numbers I noticed he has a little rhyme for each one. It is pretty cute. The video is a bit shaky because I was balancing Kevin on my lap because he wanted to see the movie on the camera.

For the last several weeks, Paige has been walking around the house saying "I want go to Noni's house", "I like Noni's house", so finally today Grandma Noni took her for the entire day for some Paige time. She had a blast and as you can see scored some new suade boots and sunglasses.

For those that aren't doing coupons, you should start already! My cupboards have never been so full! Here is some of what I picked up today. I spent $35 and saved $120 and got over 40 big cans of soup, 8 bags chex mix, lots of pasta and other things - some of it's not pictured. I would've spent a lot less, but the soup was only $1 per can without the coupons, so when I ran out of coupons, I bought extra.

A little rant........

OK, so I've been watching the news after the whole hurricane thing and I am SOOO tired of hearing people complain that the government is not doing enough to help them. I mean come on people! I know you're going through tough times, but be grateful you live in this country where you CAN get help. Next time be preapared before a hurricane hits, or better yet, maybe you should move! How would you like to live in Myanmar where they had 1000's of people die from a typhoon? Did their government help them? Did they get their houses rebuilt? Did they get free food/water? NO! Or how about China after that big earthquake? Do you think they can sue their government because they didn't get there FAST enough? NO! Or how would you like to live in the Congo and fall asleep EVERYnight worrying that the next day your little boy may be kidnapped and forced to be a child soldier or that your little girl will be kidnapped and gang raped? Or how would you like to live in Ethiopia and watch your child DIE of an illness that can easily be cured, but your government does not provide the healthcare that ours does? Wake up people and be glad you live in America. For all of our problems, messed up laws, messed up healthcare system, high gas prices, and whatever, this is still the best place in the world to live. So quit complaining. Be happy you live in a country where you can sue anyone for whatever you want, where you can become an instant millionare if a family member dies, where you can own a home even if you have no money, where you can live the lifestyle of the rich when you're in debt, and where you can say whatever you want (so long as its politically correct, of course...).

Derek's Big Boo boo

Derek had school pictures last week and instead of buying them from the school where they are WAY expensive, I was planning on taking him to Target on Monday to get a package deal there. So, of course at school on Monday, he tripped and fell on the carpet in his class and got a nice rug burn right in the middle of his forehead. And it's hard to see, but he also has a bruise under his right eye and an old bruise above his left eye! We took the pictures at Target as planned... I did my best to cover it with makeup, so we'll see how the pictures turn out. And today, his teacher made him go see the nurse for his owie and the dumb nurse put a bandaid on it without any neosporin or medicine and so the bandaid stuck to the scab and pulled the scab right off when I took the bandaid off. So now it makes this picture look good (taken this morning) because now it looks really bad. He was so concerned about losing the blood and kept asking if the blood was going to go back into his head.

Paige has started calling Kevin "Buddy". We have no idea where she heard it from because we don't call him that, but if we ask her to say Kevin, she says "Buddy". All day long, it's "Buddy this" or "Buddy that". It's kind of cute. She is really talking a ton and she has the cutest little voice, she'll say sentence after sentence. Her cutest sentence is "my squito bite hurts". Kevin over the last few weeks has finally started talking more. We still can't understand everything he says but he keeps asking until we finally guess it and he says "yah". His favorite words are "Otay", "Roar" (dinosaur), "chi chi train" and he's starting to put words together in sentences.

Potty training has been a hit or miss this week. Lots of wet pants. It's frustrating because while I'm at work on the weekends, Tad doesn't keep them in underwear as much as I do, so I kind of have to start over on Mondays.

The last few days...

Tad and the kids came by the hospital the other day so we could all have lunch together. It's kind of hard to see, but my belly is getting pretty big!!

Our grass is getting really green with all the rain we got last week....

The kids are so into dinosaurs lately, so everytime we go to Goodwill, we scour the store for any dinosaur toys and we've gotten pretty lucky....here's some of the toys we've found lately...dinosaurs, snakes, lizards and now we'll have to start looking for some girly toys for Paige.
