The cute things they say

Every time the kids say something cute, I tell myself to write it down but I always forget and then I forget the cute thing they said! But, here are a few of the cute things they've said over the last week....

Paige: She walked up to me and said "I'm learning" with a serious look on her face. She thought she was so grown up.

Paige: I have to go peep (pee)

Paige & Kevin: Hot balloon (hot air balloon)

Paige & Kevin: Snake rattle (rattlesnake)

Paige: "I'm mad at you" - I asked her if she even knew what that meant and she she nodded and then growled.

And it's always cute when they remember something and say that they did it "last week". Everything is last week whether it was yesterday, this morning or months ago.

Chunky Little Girl

I took Darci in for her 2 month well check (she's 2 1/2 months) and she is a chunk! She weighs 11lbs 9 oz! She's 22 1/2 inches tall. She did so great there until her 3 shots! ouch! She's such a sweet pea! She's doing great, sleeping until 7 to 8am in the morning. She wakes up at least once at night and I just give her a binky and put her in the swing and she goes back to sleep. She's drinking 5oz in each bottle and the doctor says she'll probably have to start on rice cereal before the other kids did because she's gaining weight so good! My chunky little girl....

Fun with Grandma part 3

Saturday we went to the Rio Grande Zoo. It was actually quite nice. Shade everywhere! I think we might have to break out and buy season passes. It would be a great deal, because the passes also get you into the aquarium and the botanical gardens and is only $75 for a family. Well worth it in my opinion.

The Zoo Animals

The Sea lion exhibit was one of the kids favorite. They're so fast, it's hard to get pictures of them!

Pretty little kittty, I just want to get pet him!

The fierce lioness

The lazy king

The polar bear was Derek's favorite. He liked his place on the rock and barely moved.

I love Zebras... until they start talking.

Gorillas always give you such great pictures!

The Cheetah

The Other Zoo Animals....

Twilight

So don't tell Tad, but I think I might have a crush on a vampire.... just kidding... he is pretty cute though!

My mom kindly watched the kids Fri night so Tad and I could go on a date. Being the frugal people that we are, we went to the discount theater here, but I did splurge and get the biggest popcorn and soda they had! We saw Twilight.... I have to admit that I was not a big Twilight kind of person.... other than knowing it had something to do with vampires, I really didn't know anything about it. Nor did I care. We only saw it because there was nothing else interesting playing.

But.... now I am totally a fan. After the first 20 minutes or so I was sucked right in! I can't wait to get the book and read it. I'm going to have to put my name on the waiting list at the library, again because I'm too cheap to actually buy the book. So in a few months, I'll tell you what I thought of it.

Fun time with Grandma part 2

OK, lots of pictures below!!! Click on the to enlarge. We took the Railrunner Express train there and back. It was really nice, double decker and everything. So we went on Friday mid morning thinking it would be empty. Wrong! It was so packed, we almost had to stand up with everyone, but thankfully a few really nice people let us have the seats and they stood up instead... The way back wasn't quite as bad because Santa Fe is the first stop getting on. The trip takes about an hour to drive or take the train, but I would much rather pay my $7 round trip and take the train and not have to worry about driving.

Darci did great on the train, there and back. I think she got a bit motion sick on the way back because she spit up all over me at the end of it.

We found a little park near the train station to have a little picnic. In fact we were surrounded by people sleeping on the ground and Mexicans standing on the side of the road looking for work. You don't see any of that in Albuquerque so far that I've seen.

Maya found a dandylion and blew the petals and Paige tried to do that with her yellow flower.

This is the Plaza in Santa Fe. It's a big open area surrounded by shops and side streets with more shops. Next time we'll have to come here without kids so I can actually see all the shops!

Noni bought everyone an ice cream treat!

Paige being fussy - Daddy and Darci

We found a little park to play in. Jack and Derek climbed up this climbing area and Paige had to try. Here she is going up, up and away. She made it all the way across in her dress without falling.

Playing at the playground

The trip home, everyone was tired! My mom took these pictures of the kids and their reflections. While we were on the train, we sat next to someone who noticed my CTR ring, so we started talking about the church in Albuquerque and it turns out she was in my step-cousins ward. It's a small world.
