Halloween

OK, I think my camera is on the way out because lately the pics have been very grainy and blurry. Anyway, we went trick or treating tonight and everyone had a lot of fun. Darci loved the candy! And isn't she the cutest little snow white ever!

Snow!

I went to get the mail yesterday and when I opened the door, I was taken by complete suprise with a gust of ice cold windy snow in my face! It was totally unexpected because we were just outside an hour before and the skies were clear... cold, but clear. So for about 30 minutes, it really came down (didn't stick much), but it was fun to see.

1st Snow in Albuquerque

The other day it snowed for the first time this winter, or fall I guess it still is. It only stuck around for a day. The days haven't been too cold yet, but it's been kind of cold a few nights so far. We've yet to turn on the furnace. Actually, I'm not even sure how to turn it on, since I've never owned a furnace before. The thought of owning one brings up memories of "The Burbs" with Tom Hanks where they were burning all the bodies in their furnace.

So here is Derek with his 2nd lost tooth...

The kids favorite thing about the balloon festival was asking all the balloon pilots for their "cards". They're going to have quite a collection in a few years.

Lulu is getting better and better in the house. Hopefully one day soon we can let her roam free all day long.

The kids on our way to the neighborhood chili tasting/halloween party. Derek wanted to be his dragon again. Kevin is Thomas. Paige is her princess ballerina again, but we need to work on a crown, since I couldn't find it from last year. I might get her a wig too. Darci is a pumpkin. I really wanted her to be a stink bug, but I couldn't find that anywhere.

Changing Leaves in Santa Fe

While my mom and brother were here about 2 weeks ago, we went up to Santa Fe to see the changing colors of the aspens. It was beautiful. Started out bright and sunny, but then the fog and storm clouds rolled in. It even snowed a bit. Yes, it was COLD! We all stayed in the building sipping hot cocoa, while Tad rode the ski lift alone...

Earlier that week, Mary, Patty and Carol and the kids came to visit. Our kids sure loved playing with Max, Maya and Cooper and it was amazing how great they all got along. I'm sure Paige and Maya would be best girlfriends if we lived closer!

These were the gas balloons at the balloon fiesta. Every year they take off and race until they run out of gas, usually about 5 days. This year it was too windy for them to take off and it was cancelled. Apparently Albuquerque has some of the best weather for hot air balloons. This seems strange to me because if it is too windy balloons can't take off and it is windy ALL the time here...
