Paige.... the purple princess

Who would have thought that this little bottle could do such harm?????

Our dentist recommended that Tad use Gentian Violet as a topical for his canker sores. The pharmacist warned him that it would turn his mouth purple. Little did we know it would also turn our daughter purple.... He applied some this afternoon and left the bottle on the bathroom sink (with the lid barely on). In walks Paige who grabs the bottle and pours it down the right side of her body! And this stuff really stains!!! There's nothing we can do for her, she's going to be purple forever....

Actually, she'll only be purple for about a week or so until it wears off. All we can do is soapy baths everyday until then..... Why do things like this always happen when I plan on taking them to get pictures done? I guess those will have to wait.....

Baking is sooooo over-rated!

So we decided to make Halloween cookies. I think we got a little carried away buying the cookie cutters and decorations.... Next time we'll keep it simple and only have one design! So, I've come to the conclusion that baking is soooo over-rated! It's messy and takes FOREVER! But I guess it's worth it in the end when you get to eat yummy cookies and have some to give away! Most of them turned out ok, but Tad does like all of his food over-done and so some of the cookies turned out a little crisp.... hope everyone that got them didn't mind!

Fish!

Tad and his Dad went fishing a few weeks ago. Tad's taking the picture and his Dad is holding Tad's fish. His Dad's are the much smaller ones on the counter.

Picnic Weather

So now that the weather is a bit nicer, the kids have wanted to eat lunch every day out under our big elm tree with all of their outside toys. Paige has been cute lately, she's been walking around with her hands on her hips. Yesterday at the doctors office, after we had been waiting for about 45 minutes to see the doctor, she walked in the hall and put her hands on her hips and gave the doctor the stink eye just as he was walking by. Kevin's been cute lately too, his new thing is to say that everything hurts him. Everything he says nearly is this or that "urt me". Derek is just enjoying his fall break from school.

Halloween Craft

Thanks to our friend Jacqui for posting this fun craft on her blog. We did this the other day and the kids really had fun. I like the look of the black bat-o-lanterns instead of just the traditional jack-o-lanterns.

Mount Graham

A 20-minute drive from Thatcher takes you 6000ft to this nice picnic spot on Mount Graham. There's a lake at the top of the mountain, but the curvy roads always make me motion-sick, so we never really make it that far up the mountain. Someday, I'll give in and we'll take the drive all the way up.

Cottonfields in Thatcher

We've been in Thatcher all week visiting Nana and Grandpa. There are cottonfields everywhere. I know these are a lot of pictures but I thought they were all cute and we had a lot of fun taking them so I had to post a bunch... Click to enlarge.
