Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach was so much fun.  One day we were there we took a swamp tour in the Town of Conway, about 20 miles from Myrtle Beach.  I totally recommend this tour to anyone who visits the area. Capt Jim with River Memories was our guide. He grew up in Conway and told us all kinds of stories about how he grew up on the river and swam with alligators and got into mischief with his friends.  Very cool.
Paige was not very excited about being on the boat.  I think she thought an alligator was going to jump out of the water and get her.  I was hoping we would see some alligators, but we didn't.  They are there for sure, and I'm sure they were hiding beneath the swampy leaves right in front of our faces.

Derek thought Capt Jim's stories were pretty funny.

Paige still no happy

Back in Myrtle Beach, this was the view from our hotel room on the 14th floor.  The awesome thing about Myrtle Beach is there are SO many hotels RIGHT on the beach.  And a lot of them are inexpensive.  We paid $77 per night plus $11 resort fee and had a pool, lazy river, kitchen and the beach.  You can't find those deals on the west coast....

And the other awesome thing about Myrtle Beach and the Atlantic Ocean is that the water is seriously WARM.  You can jump right in.  It was SO nice.  We loved swimming in it (making Tad nervous everytime we inched further out) and looking for shark teeth on the beach.  We did find some!

Everyone was definitely worn out each night...

The boardwalk was fun, lots of souvenier shops.
